Student Housing
Bochum Student Services offer student housing of various forms in their residences in Bochum, Gelsenkirchen and Bocholt near the University. These student residences provide accommodation for more than 4,100 students. The offer ranges from furnished rooms, apartments or shared arrangements to housing solutions for families or for people with disabilities.

Dining Facilities
Bochum Student Services provide for the culinary well-being of students and university employees with almost 30 dining halls and cafeterias at the various locations in Bochum, Gelsenkirchen, Recklinghausen and Bocholt. Here students, employees and other people related to the university are offered warm meals, snacks or beverages. Several schools in Bochum and Hattingen are also catered by the Student Services.

Students with Children
Bochum Student Services are responsible for two daycare centers in Bochum with the capacity for 200 children. Here children aged 4 months to 6 years old can be cared for. Additionally, after-school care is available for 30 children of school age.

Counseling and Social Services
Bochum Student Services offer counseling for students with disabilities or chronic illnesses. In individual counseling sessions, students receive support for every situation of life such as dealing with study and exam regulations, financing or physical care and assistance.

International Center
In order to make it easier for international students to stay in Germany and study at a German university and to foster intercultural communication, Bochum Student Services have set up the department “Internationales”. Besides managing exchange programs and providing practical help for coping with day-to-day university life, the department is particularly useful in organizing mentors and tutors for international students.

Office of Cultural Affairs (BoSKop)
BoSKop (Bochum student culture cooperative) is the Office of Cultural Affairs run by Bochum Student Services and the place to turn to for all things concerning cultural affairs. The Office of Cultural Affairs offers an extensive cultural program ranging from courses and workshops in theater, dance and music to events like concerts, jazz and blue sessions, as well as the “BoSKop Show”.
